occupied renovation in Kenmore Square

The Chabad House of Greater Boston, located in Boston’s Kenmore Square neighborhood, was built in 1898 by George Russell Shaw and Henry S. Hunnewell as a home for Thomas Jefferson Coolidge.

ZVI collaborated with the Chabad in the Spring of 2021 to complete structural improvements to the building’s failing slab, a new egress to ensure life safety, the addition of an ADA accessible entrance and bathroom, repointing of the Beacon side of the building, new HVAC system, new light fixtures, the renovation of 9 bathrooms, and new finishes throughout. ZVI spent the latter half of the project working in an occupied space and coordinating work between the Jewish High Holidays.
